Nineteen templates covering the messages most businesses need on day one, each marked with the Meta category it must be submitted under. Adapt the wording, keep the category — getting that field wrong is the most common reason a template is rejected, and the most common reason a business overpays for messaging.
All utility — they relate to a transaction the customer started, which also makes them far cheaper than marketing.

The full rules, and what to do when something is rejected: WhatsApp template approval.
Yes — adapt the wording to your business and submit them to Meta for approval. Keep the category shown against each one; that is the field that most often causes a rejection when it is wrong.
Meta templates use {{1}}, {{2}} and so on as placeholders you fill at send time. Note that a variable cannot sit at the very start or very end of the body, and two variables cannot be adjacent with nothing between them — both are common rejection causes.
If the message is about a transaction the customer initiated — an order, a booking, an invoice — it is utility. If it is a one-time passcode it is authentication. Anything promotional, including a discount tacked onto an otherwise transactional message, is marketing.
Including one is strongly advisable. It reduces blocks and spam reports, which are the main drivers of a quality-rating downgrade — and an unsubscribe costs you one contact where a block costs you rating that affects every future message to everyone.
Write your templates in ConneXus, send them to Meta for approval, and watch the status sync back — no bouncing between tabs and Business Manager.
