What will WhatsApp actually cost you?

Enter your monthly message volumes and the rates you have been quoted. The calculator shows what Meta charges, and separately what a reselling provider's markup would add on top — the line item most providers do not put on their pricing page.

Your monthly volumes

Offers, launches, cart nudges

Order updates, reminders, invoices

One-time passcodes

Per-message rates (₹)

Pre-filled with indicative India rates as of July 2026. Replace them with Meta's current published rates for your country, or with the rates your provider quotes you — rates change, and the comparison below is only as good as the numbers you put in.

Provider markup

The percentage a reselling provider adds on top of Meta's rates. If you do not know yours, ask them — that is the point of this row. With ConneXus it is zero, because Meta bills you directly.

7,000 messages · Meta's charge₹4,560
A reseller's markup at 20%+ ₹912
You would pay that reseller₹5,472
With ConneXus, Meta bills you₹4,560

That is ₹10,944 a year in markup alone, on top of whatever platform subscription you are paying either way.

An estimate, not a quote. It ignores volume tiers on utility and authentication (which make your real bill lower at scale), free replies inside the 24-hour service window (lower again), and any platform subscription. Meta's published rate card is the authority.

Three ways to make this number smaller

  • Move transactional messages to the utility category. Order updates, reminders and invoices sent as marketing templates cost several times more and are more likely to be reported.
  • Reply inside the 24-hour window. Every free-form reply you send while a customer's window is open is free. Answering promptly is a cost strategy, not just a service one.
  • Segment rather than broadcast. You pay per delivered message whether or not it was relevant, and irrelevant messages also cost you quality rating.

The mechanics in full: how Meta charges for WhatsApp messages.

Frequently asked questions

How is my WhatsApp bill calculated?

Meta charges per delivered template message, priced by category — marketing, utility or authentication — and by the recipient's country. Multiply your monthly volume in each category by that category's rate. Free-form replies inside the 24-hour service window are not charged and do not enter the calculation.

Why does this calculator ask me to enter the rates?

Because rates change. India's marketing rate rose roughly 10% in 2026, and Meta revises per-country rate cards periodically. A calculator with hardcoded rates quietly produces a wrong budget months later. Entering your own also lets you model exactly what your current provider is quoting you.

What is a typical reseller markup?

It varies widely and is rarely published — which is the problem. The only reliable way to find out is to ask your provider whether Meta bills you directly or they invoice you for messages, and if the latter, what their rate is against Meta's published rate for your country.

Will my real bill be lower than this estimate?

Usually, for two reasons the calculator ignores deliberately. Utility and authentication rates step down once your monthly volume crosses Meta's thresholds, and every reply you send inside a customer's 24-hour window is free. Both make the true figure lower, so treat this as a ceiling.

Pay Meta directly, not a middleman

With ConneXus your WhatsApp Business Account is in your name and Meta invoices you at their published rates. The markup row above is always zero.
